CITB Site Safety Plus – SEATS

CITB Site Safety Plus (‘The Scheme’) has been designed to provide the building, civil engineering, and allied industries with a framework for training and career development.

SEATS is aimed at Staff with management or supervisory (environmental) responsibilities on a construction sites.

Site Environmental Awareness Training Scheme Course (SEATS)

Objectives

This one-day course will provide candidates with an introduction to environmental issues on construction sites. It is designed to meet the basic environmental knowledge that the sub-contract chain are required to prove to major contractors, and covers the environmental aspects of the new touch screen Health, safety and environment test.
The course is accredited by Site Safety Plus.

Outcomes

Successful candidates will gain knowledge and skills in:
• The environment and why is it important?
• An outline of Environmental Management Systems
• Waste management
• Pollution prevention and water management
• Being a good neighbour – statutory nuisance, communication, archaeology and heritage
• Energy and resources
• Being a responsible contractor

Programme

This course is delivered through classroom based tutorials and case studies. Candidates will understand how each issue affects work on construction sites and focus on best practice techniques and legal compliance. Each session ends with key ‘dos’ and ‘don’ts’ and details of further information. Candidates receive a copy of the new GE 700 Environmental section for further reference on site. At the end of the course, knowledge is tested by a 25 question multiple-choice test.
